HotSpot in Ražanac – free access to Internet
The Municipality of Ražanac applied for grants allocation on the basis of a public call from The incentive programme for free internet access in tourist destinations, „HOT SPOT CROATIA“ in 2014. , and it gain funding for installing 2 access points in Ražanac.
By installing access points in Ražanac, a large part of open touristic areas like squares, sport grounds, historical sites, sea harbour, public beaches and other areas are being covered by wi-fi signal. This project will create multiple positive effects for the whole area of Municipality of Ražanac, by strengthening the image of the destination and providing more intensive communication with the visitors through social networks, as well as better access to information about accommodation capacities, gastronomy offer, cultural and historical heritage, etc.
This year the Ministry of Tourism issued a public call on March 13th., at which local and regional governments could apply. There were 127 applications, and 103 applications/projects were approved to be financed.
242 new access points, the upgrade of 51 existing points and setup of 49 wi-fi interpretations were planed. The total number of realized tourist overnights per local unit in 2013th, contribution for strengthening the tourist image of the destination and the number of established access points per user based on this programme in last year, were the main criteria when the applications were evaluated.
Access points are marked with the sign „Hotspot Croatia“, made by detailed solutions available on official website of Ministry of Tourism. Two access points are already available for all users.
